Sometimes, all it takes is colour to completely transform a space.
From Room to Reading Environment
Launched in collaboration with The Literacy Project Charity, the Literacy Centre was created to provide students with a dedicated space to strengthen their reading skills, build confidence, and develop a love for learning.
Designed as a quiet, focused environment away from everyday distractions, the space supports both independent reading and structured teaching.
But beyond functionality, the goal was clear.
Create a space that feels inviting, inspiring, and engaging for every child who enters.

The Power of Colour in Learning Spaces
This is where Kaleidoscope Paints made its mark.
Through vibrant, carefully applied colour, the Literacy Centre was transformed into an environment that stimulates creativity, encourages focus, and makes learning feel exciting.
Kaleidoscope Paints was used throughout the space to:
- Bring life to the interior walls
- Create a visually engaging mural designed to inspire young minds
- Enhance the floor with a clean, refreshed finish
- Transform the exterior entrance, creating a welcoming first impression
The result is a space that does more than function.
It invites, it energises, and it inspires.

The environment a child learns in matters.
A well-designed, colourful space can influence mood, engagement, and even confidence. It can turn reading from a task into an experience.
As outlined in the project’s vision, the aim was to create “a dynamic, student-friendly environment that motivates and inspires a love for reading.”
Through the use of colour and thoughtful design, that vision has been brought to life.
Supported by Barbados Steel Works
This transformation was made possible through the support of Barbados Steel Works, which supplied Kaleidoscope Paints, along with PVC Board and other materials used in the transformation of the Literacy Centre.
Together, these elements helped shape both the visual and functional aspects of the space, ensuring it is not only inspiring but built to serve students effectively.
